Won the Best Poster Presentation

Mr. Bram Hadiwijaya and Dr. Pongmanee Thongbai from School of Science, Mae Fah Luang University, won the Best Poster Presentation in the International Conference on the Occasion of the 4th Cycle Celebration of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) “Sustainable Development to Save the Earth: Technologies and Strategies Vision 2050 (SDSE 2008)” at Millennium Hilton Bangkok hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, 7-9 April, 2009.

Organized by KMUTT with support by NSTDA, CHE, NRCT, Ministry of Energy and PTT, the conference covered range of topics in science, technology and engineering, addressed the past achievement and projected the vision of technologies and strategies in term of sustainable development concerns in the future world. Among the international distinguish delegates were H.E. Dr. Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, Minister of Science and Technology, and Professor Hideki Shirakawa, 2000 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, who delivered the keynote lectures.

In this occasion, Mr. Bram Hadiwijaya (Graduate student in Biotechnology) and Dr. Pongmanee Thongbai (Lecturer and Adviser), School of Science, Mae Fah Luang University, were awarded the Best Poster Presentation from their research titled “Relationships between CO2 Assimilation, Dry Matter and Carbon Sequestration of Jatropha curcas L.”

Mr. Bram Hadiwijaya is one of the master students funded by the Indonesian Government Scholarship under the Double Degree Collaboration Programme between Brawijaya University (Indonesia), and Mae Fah Luang University (Thailand). He expects to finish his master’s thesis in Biotechnology from School of Sciences, Mae Fah Luang University, by the end of April, 2009.
